DETAILS :
I specialize in modelling  architectural environments.
I’ve studied architecture (bachelor degree) and worked in archviz for 4 years, plus 3 years of game env. artist.

i model and texture all kinds of hard surface/environment models : vehicles , mechanical , with a passion for anything sci-fi , especially retro-future designs.
In last 3 years i dedicated most of my learning time to texture paint using tablet and photo sources.

I also do lighting , rendering and compositng : i always lean to illustration rather than photorealism (i love the look of good, modern CG )
But it would be an interesting challenge to try shading and rendering for integration with live footage.

Blender has been my main tool for 3 years now along with Gimp , on Ubuntu Linux.
I got into Blender and OSS ‘unintentionally’ when broadening my skills from archviz/cad to “anything environment” (games, documentaries ) : i initially meant to use Blender only for unwrapping ,  but i started to like the speed and efficiency in modelling , then other aspects like the integration of so many tools in one (from sculpt to compositing to scripting) and the general philosophy (yes, i actually think Blender’s ui is just great!).
I immediately found Blender and OSS very alike to my approach and work method.

I’ve always worked in small teams or freelance, so i’m used to improvise in many areas (animation , simulation and a bit of python for small automations / batch scripts )

W.I.P. TRACKING AND INTEGRATION OF CG INTO LIVE FOOTAGE :

i’ve  just been to View conference (where i held a VrayBlender Workshop ) and  attended Sebastian König ‘s workshop on camera tracking ,  the workshop organization (Kino) made available some very interesting footage to experiment with tracking.

So i  started (Nov 1st )  a small personal project on camera tracking and integrating cg into live footage  – mainly to practice matching lighting –

Quick ship model based on shipyard v07 library , render  in BI.

UPDATED: nov16 : added shadows  and breakdown ,  now tuning  shading and comp and trying to match light better.
